ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating 10 shootings that have happened Sunday in the city.
The shootings left two people dead and eight others injured.
Here is the list of shootings beginning with the first reported incident early Sunday morning.
A man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Police reported that he was shot in the area of Shreve and Natural Bridge in the Penrose neighborhood.
A man was shot in the stomach in the 1100 block of Bissell. The investigation revealed the victim, who is a friend of the suspect, climbed through a window of the suspect's home. The 26-year-old suspect thought the victim was a burglar, got his gun and shot the man, who turned out to be his friend. The 34-year-old victim was awake and breathing when crews rushed him to the hospital. The man who fired the shot was taken into custody without incident.
A woman was shot while driving near Virginia and Itaska in the Dutchtown neighborhood. The 46-year-old told police she had just turned a corner when someone in a dark-colored car fired shots at her. One bullet grazed her head. She was awake and breathing when emergency crews rushed her to a hospital.
A 53-year-old man was shot in the foot at N. Market and N. Grand in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. The man wasn't cooperating with police but told officers he was sitting on a curb when a white car drove by and fired shots at him. Police reported that he was stable.
A homeowner called 911 to report he had just shot a man in the head who was standing at his front door. The shooting victim died at the scene in the 5300 block of Virginia.
While on patrol, officers heard gunshots near the 1400 block of Blackstone. They then got a call for a shooting at Hamilton Heights Park. Officers arrived to find a man dead with several gunshot wounds. The man's identity is not known at this time.
A man in his 30s was shot in the leg at Cass and N. 15th in the Carr Square neighborhood of north St. Louis.
A man in his 20s was shot in his leg in the 5300 block of Ruskin. He was awake and breathing when police responded.
A woman was shot in the leg by another woman, police reported. The shooting happened near N. Kingshighway and Natural Bridge in north St. Louis.
A man arrived at the hospital after he said he was shot in the area of Penrose Street and Blair Avenue in the Hyde park neighborhood.
Police have not released any further details about the shootings at this time.
