Deputies want to hear from tipster in 1993 killing

They say someone gave them information on the cold case in 2016. They want to hear from them again.

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — The Hernando County Sheriff's Office says it wants to speak to the person who provided a tip more than two years ago about the 1993 killing of Jennifer Odom.

On its Facebook page, the department said, "Cold Case detectives are asking that the person(s) who provided information on this case in late November of 2016 please contact Detective George Loydgren at 352-754-6830."

Odom stepped off a school bus in February 1993 and waved goodbye to her friends. Somewhere in the 200 yards between the stop and her home, she was abducted.

Her naked body was found almost a week later.

No one was ever arrested. Children on the bus told detectives they saw a faded blue pickup truck following Odom.
