TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — Tarpon Springs police have taken a man into custody after they say he broke into a home and was found sleeping in a child's bed.

Deputies say Christopher Matthew Weyh, 30, broke into a home on Coppertree Drive overnight Thursday. Residents of the house say they found the unknown man sleeping in a child's bed.

The child was thankfully sleeping on a couch in the living room and did not have contact with Weyh.

When the residents tried to wake him up, he yelled at them and went back to sleep, deputies say.

When police responded around 7:40 a.m., officers say Weyh became verbally and physically combative. Police say they had to use a taser on him to take him into custody.

No property was taken and no one was hurt, according to police. Police say he has relatives in the area and may have assumed he was in his family's home.

Weyh is charged with trespassing, resisting arrest without violence and two counts of violation of probation. His probation charges were for possession of narcotics and trafficking of stolen property.

He was sent to the Pinellas County Jail.
