Amateur rapper George Chronister was sentenced Wednesday to 22 months in prison, followed by three years of probation.

The son of Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister pleaded no contest to an aggravated battery charge.

Investigators say the younger Chronister pulled a knife on another local rapper and slashed his face in 2017.

Over the summer, a judge denied Chronister's "stand your ground" defense, ruling there was not sufficient evidence to show Chronister feared for his life.

The victim’s mother wrote a letter to the judge asking for the maximum sentence.

Chronister, who goes by the rap name Zchronik, released the song "Slash Yo Face" on June 18, 2017. The song has nearly 6,000 views on YouTube.

"George Chronister even had the audacity to make a song titled 'Slash Yo Face,'" the victim's mother wrote in the letter. "This is sociopathic behavior."

During his probation, he will not be allowed to use social media, according to a court official.
