TAMPA, Fla.—A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office corporal was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after an alleged drunk driver hit his cruiser.

Deputies said Corporal Rudolph got out of his vehicle to help a woman who was standing outside of her car on the side of the road.

Rudolph turned his emergency lights on and was getting out of his cruiser. A Volkswagen Jetta driven by Sarah Polichetti hit Rudolph's cruiser from behind, law enforcement reported.

During a DUI investigation, deputies said Polichetti blew .159 and .167 during a breath test.
