BAYONET POINT, Fla. — Pasco County deputies have arrested a man accused of threatening his wife with a knife to get charges against him dropped.

Deputies say Christopher Saranovic, 33, held a knife to his wife's throat to get her to drop the charges against him for a grand theft case.

The wife is a witness to the grand theft case in New Port Richey, deputies say.

Saranovic pushed her onto the ground and held her there, holding a knife against her throat long enough to cause a small laceration, according to the arrest affidavit.

The affidavit says he threatened to kill her and while holding the knife to her throat said, "do whatever you can to make these felony charges go away or I'll kill you and dump your body."

Deputies say they stopped Saranovic while he was driving a vehicle and saw that his drivers license was suspended back in 2014.

He was arrested and faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic battery.
