BRADENTON, Fla. — A man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman with disabilities and threw her to the ground, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
While on patrol Monday, a deputy found a woman sitting in her walker crying outside the Bradenton Quick Mart on 14th Street W. near 30th Avenue W.
Investigators say the woman told the deputy she had been sitting outside the store when a man began yelling at her about money he said she owed him. She reportedly told him she didn't know what he was talking about.
According to law enforcement, the man grabbed her by the throat, cutting off her air. Deputies say another woman saw this and told him to stop. The man then grabbed the victim by the arms and threw her to the ground, authorities claim.
Investigators say the second woman again called for him to stop, and he ran away.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect was identified as Marcus Miller. He was subsequently taken into custody.
