Parents thankful Hernando Co. deputies stayed at Kids World during nearby shootings

Parents said they were grateful the deputies had been there and that the deputies never left the facility to make sure all the kids were accounted for.

SPRING HILL, Fla.—Multiple shootings in Spring Hill near a daycare and preschool had the facility under lockdown Thursday afternoon.

Parents said they were worried when they picked up their children because Kids World of Hernando County was surrounded by police tape.

Hernando County deputies were at Kids World and told parents everything was okay.

Preschool and daycare workers weren’t able to update parents with phone calls, so they used social media to keep parents updated.

The lockdown was lifted, and parents were able to pick up their children later Thursday evening.

Parents said they were grateful the deputies had been there and that the deputies never left the facility to make sure all the kids were accounted for.
