TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police are searching for a suspect they say carjacked a BMW after shooting the driver.
Police said the carjacking happened just after midnight Friday on Nebraska Avenue in Seminole Heights. Officers say the carjacking suspect shot the victim in the hip, drove the victim's BMW about three blocks and abandoned the vehicle on East Powhattan Avenue.
Police say the victim will be okay, but the suspect has not yet been found.
A police lieutenant said there appears to be no connection between the driver and the suspect.
