TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County School Board decided to rename the rebuilt Lee Elementary School. It will now be Tampa Heights Elementary
Soe of the community wanted to see the school named after someone other than Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
Crews will rebuild the school after an electrical fire burned down the historic building on Sept. 12 which was two days after Hurricane Irma twice made landfall in Florida.
Other alternative names submitted include Harper Lee Elementary and Amelia Elementary.
