A popular social media site is taking a shot at stopping misinformation about vaccines.
Pinterest banned searches related to vaccinations, according to MSN.
Pinterest told MSN most photos on the site that were against vaccines went against what established medical guidelines. Pinterest said it tried to take down only anti-vaccine content but couldn’t, so the company took it a step further.
The search ban is only temporary until the website can find a way to monitor what it called “polluted” content, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Journal reported Pinterest also banned searches for cancer cures because it was “harmful information.”
