The internet, filled to the brim of recourses, can be a daunting place to find help about mental health.

10News’ “Stop the Stigma” series hopes to make the process more efficient.

Brave people who shared their stories with us described dark moments in their lives. They talked about how, for all intents and purposes, a system meant to give them a leg up quite frequently comes up short.

But above all else: Everyone we spoke with actively is trying to find their own breakthrough and making the issue of mental illness not something that holds them back.

Through our reporting, here are several go-to resources and organizations that were helpful to have a better understanding of the topic.

If you’re considering harming yourself, know people are there for you. You are not alone. Give the National Suicide Prevention Hotline a call – it will empower you to see through any struggle. That number is 1-800-273-8255.
