YBOR CITY, Fla. – Eighty-five years ago today, the 21st Amendment was ratified, ending Prohibition in the United States.

Two places in Tampa Bay are celebrating with 50-cent Old Fashioneds and discounted cocktails.

Rock Brothers Brewing in Ybor City is bringing back 1933 pricing for its cocktail of bourbon, sugar and bitters. Say the words "Bottled in Bond" from 7-10 p.m. and get a 50-cent Old Fashioned from Old Forester, the brewery said in a Facebook post.

The name "Old Fashioned" to describe a bourbon cocktail was allegedly first used in 1881 in Kentucky. The International Bartenders Association's recipe calls for combining bourbon or rye whiskey, Angostura bitters, a sugar cube and a splash of water. It's usually garnished with an orange-rind twist and a cherry.

Over in St. Petersburg, The Canopy at the Birchwood is celebrating the end of Prohibition from 7-10 p.m. Wednesday night. Deals include $3 Frose, $6 Stoli cocktails, $6 specialty cocktails and a 1930s costume contest.
