A U.S. Army soldier from Manatee County was identified as one of nine victims of a deadly training exercise accident Thursday at Fort Hood in Texas.

The body of Private First Class Zachery Nathaniel Fuller, 23, of Palmetto, was recovered on Thursday near Owl Creek, north of Austin Texas.

According to USA TODAY, Fuller joined the service in November and arrived at Fort Hood in April. He received his service ribbon, a National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal.

He, along with eight other soldiers, perished when their Light Medium Tactical Vehicle overturned during a training exercise. Three soldiers survived the accident and were taken to an area hospital.

Another Florida soldier was identified Sunday. Pfc. Brandon Austin Banner, of Milton, 22, joined the Army in 2014 and assigned to Fort Hood in July.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. A statement on the Fort Hood Facebook site said that the "circumstances of the accident are unknown."
