1999 disappearance solved, husband charged with murder

Authorities have charged 58-year old Robert Temple with the murder of his wife, Rosemary Christensen, after her body was discovered buried in Gilchrist County. Christensen, who lived in Belleaire with Temple, was reported missing in 1999.

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Detectives say they have always believed Robert Glenn Temple murdered his wife Rosemary Anne Christensen. But it wasn't until Temple's girlfriend Lesley Stewart recently came forward that they had enough evidence to arrest the 58-year old.

quot;She (Stewart) provided the location of Mrs. Christensen's body and she also provided information which resulted in the charges being placed against Mr. Templequot; Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats said Wednesday.

Christensen was reported missing in August of 1999 when her co-workers became concerned. At the time, Temple told detectives he and his wife were swingers and suggested Christensen ran off with another man. Temple even sobbed in front of reporters in 1999 saying quot;I love my wife, I just want her back.quot; He added quot;I couldn't do anything to harm her. I just want her back.quot;

However, investigators now say Temple killed his wife in the couple's Belleaire condo and then buried her body in Gilchrist County. Officials uncovered the body on Monday and charged Temple with first degree murder. He is currently being held in California on unrelated charges.
