DADE CITY, Fla. — Finding an activity for the whole family can be difficult. Luckily, outdoor adventure courses can be entertaining to kids of all ages.
These courses involve climbing, balancing, swinging and zip lining through the trees. With several courses here in the Tampa Bay area, you won't have to drive far to find one.
TreeHoppers Aerial Adventure Park in Dade City offers eight different courses, along with varying degrees of difficulty.
"It doesn’t take an athlete to come out here and climb," said Geof Kledzik, the General Manager of TreeHoppers. "You can pick and choose the courses that fit your own style, your own abilities. If you want to stick low to the ground and do courses that are more fun and entertaining, or if you really want to challenge yourself more physically."
With some of the courses taking you 35-40ft in the air, safety is a top priority. TreeHoppers uses a special harness system that ensures you will always be clipped onto a safety line.
To make things a little more exciting, Treehoppers even started offering night climbs.
"We have rope lights throughout the property, and colored lights and there’s music that’s out here." Kledzik said. "So it’s an opportunity to come out and climb. When it tends to be a little bit cooler, it tends to be less crowded and it’s a lot of fun, it’s like a party out in the trees."
Pricing for TreeHoppers is a follows:
- $19.95 - Young Children 5 & 6 (w/ paid Adult of 18+)
