Capt. Jan Jordan resigns from Broward Co. Sheriff's Office after MSD Public Safety Commission

According to a news release, Sheriff Scott Israel was informed that Jordan was resigning from the Broward Sheriff's Office following the MSD Public Safety Commissions meeting last week.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- The Broward Sheriff's Office has announced the resignation of Captain Jan Jordan, effective Tuesday.

According to a news release, Sheriff Scott Israel was informed that Jordan was resigning from the Broward Sheriff's Office following the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commissions meeting last week.

The MSD commissions meeting was formed to "specifically analyze information from the school shooting and other mass violence incidents in the state and address recommendations and system improvements," according to FDLE.

Jordan was also named in a civil rights violation lawsuit along with multiple other defendants.

Parkland District Sgt. Brian Miller has also been placed on restrictive administrative duty pending an internal review of his response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
