Haines City police find missing man visiting from Tennessee

HAINES CITY, Fla. — UPDATE: Elias Ladd was found safe at a local hospital, deputies say.

Haines City police and the Polk County Sheriff's Office are searching for a missing and endangered man visiting from Tennessee. 

Police say Elias Quentin Ladd, 23, was last seen before 10 a.m. Monday at the Publix located on US 17.

He was in town visiting from Tennessee and was reported missing by his brother on Tuesday evening. Police say he is considered endangered.

His 2011 white Nissan Altima was found by police after 9 p.m. Tuesday in orange groves at Golfview Cutoff and Bryan Roads in Babson Park. The sheriff's office used bloodhounds, but could not find him.

Ladd's family has tried to reach him on his cellphone, but has not heard from him. 

He is being described as a white man with brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. He is around 5'11" tall and weighs around 160 pounds.

Law enforcement is asking anyone who may have been in the area of the Publix or orange groves at Babson Park Tuesday evening to contact them. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Haines City Police Department at (863) 421-3636 or the Polk County Sheriff's Office at (863) 298-6200. They can also dial 911.
