Lightning struck a fire department and knocked down a power line in Highlands County on Wednesday afternoon.
Highlands County Fire Rescue posted photos of the asphalt melted by the power line. The downed power line sparked a small fire.
Fire rescue crews said it was a good reminder for people not to drive over downed power lines.
Rubber tires don’t protect against the dangers live power lines can pose, according to fire rescue officials.
