The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said about 10-15 mobile homes at Paradise Mobile Homes Park had damage to carports, power lines and downed trees.

RUSKIN, Fla. – The weather service confirmed a weak tornado caused minor damage to several mobile homes late Monday.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said about 10-15 mobile homes at Paradise Mobile Homes Park had damage to carports, power lines and downed trees. There were no injuries to any residents.

After initially reporting the damage as strong, downburst winds, a National Weather Service survey concluded a brief EF-0 tornado, with wind speeds of 65-85 mph, actually caused the damage.

It's suspected the tornado formed near the U.S. Highway 41 bridge that crosses the Little Manatee River and traveled east-northeast and damaged the park.

The report came in around 10:05 p.m. Monday.

A downburst is a strong downward current of air from a cumulonimbus cloud. It’s usually associated with intense rain or a thunderstorm.
