Deborah Saucier had been missing since Jan. 8.

TAMPA, Fla. — A body found floating under a water taxi dock on the Hillsborough River is that of a missing woman, police confirm.

The body of Deborah Saucier, 62, was recovered just after 11:30 a.m. Friday, according to a Tampa Police Department news release. Someone noticed something under one of the floating docks near Water Works Park and called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Throughout the weekend, investigators worked to identify the body; they confirm it is Saucier.

She last was seen by family leaving her home early Jan. 8. In the hours after, a Silver Alert was issued to encourage the public to be on the lookout.

Authorities later discovered Saucier was captured on video leaving the Seminole Hard Rock Casino on the day she went missing. Her car was discovered parked at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park.

Her family immediately became concerned about Saucier's safety because she had medical issues and did not have her medicine.

Her daughter issued an emotional appeal for her mother to come home.
