BRANDON, Fla. — A deadly crash Tuesday morning closed Brandon Parkway near Town Center Boulevard.
The Florida Highway Patrol said two people died as a result of the crash. One of the drivers, 36-year-old Harold A. Climaco, of Massachusetts, died at the scene. A passenger in the same vehicle also died but has not yet been identified.
The driver of the other vehicle involved had minor injuries and was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital.
The call came in around 5 a.m. Tuesday. Troopers say the first vehicle was traveling northbound on Town Center Boulevard and the second vehicle was driving eastbound on Brandon Parkway. Both vehicles drove into the intersection at the same time and collided.
Troopers say the second vehicle burst into flames. It's not yet known which vehicle entered the intersection under a red light.
