TAMPA, Fla. — A 34-year-old woman was hit by a CSX train in Tampa's Old Seminole Heights neighborhood.
Tampa police said the woman was wearing headphones and did not hear the train during the crash at about 9:09 p.m. Monday on East Sligh Avenue near Rowlett Park Drive.
The woman was conscious, breathing and had a wound on her forehead when officers arrived.
Tampa police said the woman was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment. She is in stable condition.
A CSX supervisor determined there was no damage or blood visible on the train, according to the police.
The train conductor told officers when he saw the woman on the train tracks, he sounded the horn and attempted to stop. The conductor estimated the train was going about 17 mph when it hit the woman, police said.
