A picture taken on October 1, 2012 shows beer poured into a glass of beer in Lille, northern France. The level of taxation of beer will increase in France, which is expected to generate 480 millions of euros to French public welfare system (Securite sociale), the French government announced on October 1, 2012.

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - Frederick-based Flying Dog Brewery is releasing a special-edition beer honoring the 75th anniversary of McCormick's Old Bay seasoning and the Maryland crab it often pairs with.

Flying Dog Brewery says on its website that it worked with spice experts for six months to develop the recipe for "Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale." The brewery says the beer has a hint of citrus and a tart finish. The label on the beer is a picture of a Maryland blue crab, and proceeds from sales of the beer will benefit a program that promotes sustainably harvested crab in the state.

The beer is expected to be on shelves Memorial Day through Labor Day in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina.
