O.J. Simpson has put the famous in "infamous."
The former NFL star, former murder suspect and former Nevada inmate attracted attention when he made a visit Tuesday night in downtown St. Petersburg.
Joe SanFilippo saw Simpson and had photos taken with him. He said he ran into the celebrity at the Oak and Stone craft beer and pizza restaurant.
"I just noticed him in the corner of my eye, almost in disbelief," he said. "He was very approachable, smiled a lot, he was with his grandkids he mentioned visiting them for Thanksgiving."
Early this year, there was speculation after Simpson was released from a Nevada prison that he was going to move to the Tampa Bay area because his children are local residents, but his attorney said he was going to remain in Nevada.
