ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The driver of an orange car is wanted for questioning in last week's attempted kidnapping of a 23-year-old jogger.

The vehicle, specifically an orange Hyundai Veloster, is seen circling in the same neighborhood at about the same time the incident happened on Wednesday, Feb. 7, on Coffee Pot Boulevard.

St. Petersburg police say the video is from 5th Avenue Northeast and Beach Drive; they would like to talk with the driver in connection with the incident.

Anyone who might have seen or heard anything is asked to call police at 727-893-7780.

10News is identifying the woman only as "Allie" to protect her identity. She was jogging on the sidewalk near Coffee Pot Boulevard and 21st Avenue Northeast at the time of the incident when a man rolled up in his car and asked for directions.

After doing so, police say he pulled out a gun and pointed it at her.

Allie was able to run off and report to police.

"They teach you in grade school to never get in the car with someone you don’t know because once I’m in the car, I have lost all control," she earlier told 10News.

"I hope that it just makes other aware."
