ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - You could spend hours, if not days, exploring the dozens of murals around downtown St. Petersburg.
A new bike tour is looking to make that outdoor artwork a little more accessible.
The Pedego Electric Bike Mural Tour uses electric bikes to take people around to nearly 40 different murals. The tour last about 2 hours and covers 13 miles.
The bikes let you choose three different modes of power -- manpower, 100% electric power or a mix of the two. Pedal Assist uses the electric motor to supplement your pedaling.
"You know we're in Florida," said Caroline Harbaugh, co-owner the Pedego Electric Bikes in St. Petersburg and Dunedin. "You can use that throttle, and get some air on your face. You're going to be able to (ride) a lot longer."
The electric bikes allow you to scoot down alleys cars might not fit down, and cover more distance than walking.
The Electric Bike Mural Tour cost $30.
