ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – After dozens of low-income, elderly residents were displaced from Jordan Park subsidized housing in south St. Petersburg, city council officials are expressing their outrage in hopes of finding a solution.
Council chair Lisa Wheeler-Bowman said she's received numerous complaints from former residents unhappy with deplorable conditions in the units they were placed in after the move.
Those residents have complained of raw-sewage backing up into their homes, unruly neighbors and the overall stress of being forced to move at an old age.
Wheeler-Bowman is holding a news conference at 10 a.m. to address the issues.
