St. Pete police investigate home invasion shooting with 1 suspect dead, 2 brothers injured

UPDATE: Police reported that a home invasion occurred around 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning at 4150 11th Ave. S in St. Petersburg.

Officers said three suspects forced their way into a home in which three brothers were living. One suspect was shot and died inside the home. Two of the brothers, Ackeem Marks, 25, and Shaevaughn Marks, 20, were injured.

Ackeem was reported critical but in stable condition. Shaevaughn had non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition.

The other brother was not injured.

Police did not release the name of the dead suspect until family is notified. Officers said two other suspects are on the run and they don't believe the home invasion was random.

Officers reported one person dead and two others wounded at around 8 a.m. Sunday in the Childs Park neighborhood of St. Petersburg.
