Polk deputies search for missing Lakeland man with advanced Alzheimer's

According to a news release, Joseph Kiersey left his home near the intersection of Sangria Pass and Merlot Dr. in Lakeland in a 2001 White Ford Ranger with Florida tag # Y50NVQ around 8:45 a.m.

UPDATE: Joseph Kiersey has been found and returned home safely, Polk deputies say.

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office has sent out a silver alert for a missing and endangered 82-year-old man with advanced Alzheimer's Friday afternoon.

According to a news release, Joseph Kiersey left his home near the intersection of Sangria Pass and Merlot Dr. in Lakeland in a 2001 White Ford Ranger with Florida tag # Y50NVQ around 8:45 a.m.

Kiersey has been described as a white male with brown eyes and gray hair. He is around 5'4" tall, around 175 pounds, and will likely be wearing glasses.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy or white plaid shirt with faded black shorts and white shoes.
