A home invasion went bad for a man in North Port when one of the victims grabbed him and the victim's wife beat him with his own weapon.

Noah Dassat, 33, of Santa Cruz, Calif., has been arrested on four felony charges and one misdemeanor for armed burglary, battery, and criminal mischief.

Dassat stopped at a home on Thursday on Kennett Street in North Port and asked for somone named "Josh," saying he was owed some money. The homeowner said he had the wrong address. Dassat then broke down the door and attacked the occupants -- including three children -- with a bat, according to North Port police.

After being hit, a male resident wrestled Dassat and put him in a bear hug. The resident's wife then beat Dassat with his own weapon -- a bat -- striking him in the head several times.

Dassart then fled without the bat. He also left behind a hat and lots of blood

Police were then was contacted by the Charlotte County sheriff about a man with head injuries matching the suspect's description at a Port Charlotte hospital. The blood on the man's car matched the blood at the crime scene.

Detectives arrived and after he gave a false, were able to determine Dassat was the suspect in the burglary.

Dassat is in the Charlotte County Jail being held on no bond.
