Suspect held in deadly Tampa nightclub attack

A 39-year-old Pinellas Park man has been identified as the knife-wielding assailant at a Tampa nightclub.

TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- A 39-year-old Pinellas Park man has been identified as the knife-wielding assailant at a Tampa nightclub. Michael Pyne is charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and battery in an attack that left one man dead and three other people injured. Police say Pyne has been identified by witnesses at the club in the Ybor City entertainment district. Investigators say Pyne admits being at the club with a knife but doesn't remember anything after seeing his girlfriend in a fight. Police say a fight started between two women at The Masquerade nightclub. Pyne is accused of killing 30-year-old Thomas Laskas and injuring the victim's wife and two other people.
