Manatee deputies identify man who died after being lit on fire

A homicide investigation is underway.

Update on Friday, Nov. 16: MYAKKA CITY, Fla. – The Manatee County Sheriff's Office identified the man who died late Wednesday after being lit on fire.

The sheriff's office said Antonio Maurice Bradley was the man killed.

Bradley, 35, had been staying in Bradenton, the sheriff's office said. He's also lived in Sarasota County.

A witness found Bradley around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday on the west side of MJ Road.

Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide.

Deputies have yet to make an arrest as of Friday morning.

The investigation is ongoing.

Original Story on Thursday, Nov. 15: MYAKKA CITY, Fla. – A man found on fire on the side of the road died late Wednesday night, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said.

The sheriff's office said a witness found the man around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday on the west side of MJ Road.

Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide. They have not identified the victim.

Emergency medical services pronounced the man dead at the scene. Investigators do not know how he got there.
