PONTIAC, Mich. — A Michigan man who won the lottery must split the jackpot with his ex-wife, a court has ruled.

Rich and Mary Beth Zelasko separated in 2011, but the divorce until 2018, CBS in Detroit said.

Rich Zelasko won $30 million in a 2013 Mega Millions drawing. His attorney said it was "his luck, not Mary's, that produced the lottery proceeds."

But an arbitrator had ruled the ticket was marital property and awarded Mary Beth Zelasko $15 million.

Last week, an appeals court decided that was the right decision.
