LAND O' LAKES, Fla. -- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating a complaint against a Sunlake High School school resource officer after video shows him taking a student to the ground.

The sheriff's office said the incident happened Tuesday when the school administration requested the school resource officer remove the student from the cafeteria.

He then attempted to place the female student in custody and the student resisted arrest. The complaint said the officer forcefully took the student to the ground.

The video shows the student raising her hand to the school resource officer. She claims she was trying to put on her backpack to leave. Witnesses said that's not the case.
