TAMPA, Fla. -- As ballots whizz through counting machines, lawsuits are flying, too: Florida Gov. Rick Scott's campaign has filed a lawsuit against the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections.
The suit alleges that campaign observers, from both political parties and candidates for U.S. Senate, are not allowed into the recount room during the recount process. People are, however, allowed to watch through glass windows.
"Defendants have refused to permit the designated representatives of candidates or political parties into the room in which machine recounts are being conducted—in violation of a plain and unambiguous provision of law," the lawsuit reads, in part.

It asks the elections supervisor, Craig Latimer, to allow "designated representative of each affected candidate and political party into the recount room, as Florida law requires."
Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections spokeswoman Gerri Kramer told 10News, "We do not comment on litigation," in response to a request for comment.
Earlier Tuesday, the campaign for Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson filed a lawsuit calling for a federal court to extend the deadline for recounting votes across Florida. All 67 counties have until Thursday to complete the machine recount process.
