Severe weather cancels Tampa's final mayoral debate

TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa’s final mayoral debate between former police chief Jane Castor and businessman David Straz was canceled Friday due to severe weather.

The event was called off just a few hours before it was set to take place.

WTMP, the debate's lead organizer, said the severe weather moving across the region was the reason it was canceled.

Early voting for the election ends Saturday. The election takes place Tuesday.
