Florida voters will have access to ballots in Spanish for next year’s presidential election.
Gov. Ron DeSantis said in April he wanted to make Spanish-language ballots available throughout the state.
The News Service of Florida reported Secretary of State Laurel Lee’s office will hold a second workshop on the issue on Aug. 9 in Tallahassee.
The notice referred to Florida’s “Puerto Rican American population” and a lack of statewide uniformity for Spanish-language ballots.
In May, U.S. District Judge Mark Walker ordered election supervisors to provide Spanish-language ballots by March 2020 when the presidential primary election is held.
Hurricane Maria in September 2017 relocated hundreds of thousands of people from Puerto Rico to Florida.
