The man in charge of public transportation in the state of Florida is making a move of his own.
Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Mike Dew submitted his resignation with the agency Wednesday, reports 10News' Noah Pransky. He is leaving to join governor-elect Ron DeSantis' transition team.
Dew's last day is Monday, Dec. 3, with FDOT general counsel Erik Fenniman assuming the role of acting secretary thereafter.
10Investigates recently found, even after 180-plus days, there are some SunPass accounts backlogged by six months. And while the troubled agency and Gov. Rick Scott promised Toll-by-Plate (TBP) invoices would be sent in November after missing a previous promise date in October, the state isn't sure whether monster bills will come before or after Christmas.
