MARION COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a tractor-trailer and two motorcycles on Interstate 75 in Marion County.

Troopers say the crash happened on northbound I-75 near the 343 milepost, which is near Ocala. They say the crash happened when traffic slowed down, and the motorcyclists lost control of their vehicles.

Two motorcyclists from Torino, Italy -- Bruno Dicosimo, 55, and Francesco Vitagliano -- were thrown from their bikes, and they were struck by the tractor-trailer. They died of their injuries.

Charges are pending in the crash, troopers said.

FHP said all northbound lanes of I-75 in the area have reopened after being shut down.
