PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — People visiting Panama City Beach formed a human chain to rescue swimmer from a rip current Sunday, video from the scene shows.

CBS affiliate WKRG found the video shot by Kassie and Carrie Strickland, showing dozens of people braving high waves to bring the swimmer to shore, where a sheriff's deputy is waiting to help.

The Birmingham News reported the beach was under a "no entry" order over the weekend as Tropical Storm Barry brought rough surf to the area.
