BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Broward County deputy who was killed over the weekend while responding to a domestic violence call has been identified.
The sheriff's office posted a photo of Deputy Benjamin Nimtz with an official "end of watch" listed as Sunday, July 21, 2019.
Nimtz died after his patrol car crashed into a pickup truck while responding to the call.
Broward County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said the crash happened early Sunday in the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Deerfield Beach.
