Fake A Vacation will take your money and superimpose an image of you on a backdrop.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — If you can't make it, fake it?

It's a kind of genius, why-didn't-I-think-of-that idea: Fake A Vacation will take your money and superimpose an image of you on a backdrop.

From there, throw 'em up on social media and let the "likes" roll in for days.

The Nebraska-based company has a few destinations to choose from, including Hawaii, the Grand Canyon and Orlando. If an actual trip to Disney Land is too expensive, you could fake being there for the sale price of $29.99.

Tom Eda, who leads marketing and support for the company, told the New York Post there's a demand for the service.

According to flight-comparison site Jet Cost, about 14 percent of some 4,000 Americans surveyed lied about their vacations. Ten percent even took an extra step to fake a post on social media.

"They fake it…sometimes because the actual vacation is too expensive, so they plan this way or sometimes they do it to get others envious," Eda told the Post.
