A 22-year-old driver is accused of dragging an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper for over a mile.

CBS affiliate WKBN in Youngstown, Ohio, reports Jamel Robert Patton turned himself in on Friday afternoon.

Dashcam video shows Trooper Mike Miller pulled over a Ford 500 for driving without headlights. A spokesman said Miller smelled pot and ordered the driver out of the car. The driver took off, with Miller holding on to one of the vehicle doors.

Miller was dragged 1.7 miles at speeds of up to 70 mph before the driver slowed down and Miller could let go.

The trooper had minor injuries.
