A grease fire at Tropicana Field prompts firefighters to respond on Opening Day.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Among the many activities welcoming guests to Tropicana Field for Opening Day, include a grease fire in the mix.

Firefighters were called around 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, for a fire at one of the ballpark's restaurants in the 300-level section. Some sprinklers in the area were triggered before firefighters could put out the fire.

The Tampa Bay Rays released the following statement on Thursday:

"Earlier this morning, there was a small grease fire in the 300 level of Tropicana Field. The sprinklers were activated and the fire has been extinguished. We do not expect it to impact gameday operations. Further updates will be posted to the Rays official Twitter account, @RaysBaseball."
