Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg 2019: What you need to know

The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg runs from Friday through Sunday.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The 2019 Firestone Grand Prix is this weekend in downtown St. Petersburg.

The 15th annual IndyCar event runs Friday through Sunday.

The 14-turn, 1.8-mile racing circuit incorporates downtown streets from Pioneer Park to part of the runway at Albert Whitted Airport. The race is 110 laps.

Tickets are available on the Grand Prix's website or by calling 1(888)476-4479. Single-day tickets cost $20 for Friday, $35 for Saturday and $50 for Sunday. Three-day tickets are also available.

The NBC Sports Network will begin its coverage of the race at 12:30 p.m. ET Sunday.

Road closures for the Grand Prix

  • Beach Drive from Central Avenue to First Avenue South
  • First Street from First Avenue South to Fifth Avenue South
  • Albert Whitted Park, motorized and pedestrian traffic

Roads with limited access

  • Second Avenue South from First Street to Second Street South
  • First Street South from Fifth Avenue South to Eighth Avenue South
  • Sixth Avenue South from Second Street to First Street

Parking

City parking garages cost $10 Friday. Parking costs $15 on Saturday and Sunday.

Motorcycle parking is available for $5 Saturday and Sunday along the west side of 1st Street South between 1st Avenue South and Central Avenue.

There is also a park-and-ride shuttle from Tropicana Field. It runs from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. A shuttle service takes people from Tropicana Field to the race course. Parking at Tropicana Field costs $10 by credit card only.

There are two entry gates to the race course. Both offer wheelchair access.

Gate 1: First Avenue South and First Street South

Gate 5: Fifth Avenue South and Second Street South

  • Wheelchair access
  • Ticket booth
  • Will call

Taxi Stands

There are two taxi stand locations:

  1. Southwest Stand: Third Street South and Fifth Avenue South
  2. Southeast Stand: Second Street South and Fourth Avenue South
