TAMPA, Fla. - Mike Evans just became the NFL's second highest paid wide receiver.

Evans agreed to a five-year, $82.5 million contract extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - with $55 million guaranteed.

"I’m excited to announce I will be spending the next several seasons in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers with one goal in mind: winning a Super Bowl with my teammates," he said on his Instagram account. "I want to thank the Bucs, from the owners to the front office, for believing in me and allowing me to take care of my family. I want to also thank my agents; Deryk Gilmore and Darren Jones for all of their hard work. I’m going to continue to strive for greatness on the field as well as in my community."

Evans will receive $55 million in injury guarantees - he has $38.3 million fully guaranteed over the next two years alone, according to CBS Sports.

The five-year extension is worth $16.5 million per year. Over the first three years, Evans will average a massive $18 million per season, CBS Sports said. The deal includes rolling guarantees early in the contract and a $1.5 million bonus in the final year of the deal, according to CBS Sports.

Evans earns $18 million in salary and bonus in 2018, and then would have a cash flow of $20 million in 2019, $18.72 million in 2020, $12.25 million in 2021, $14 million in 2022 and $14,5 million in 2023, CBS Sports said.

Evans was a second-team All-Pro in 2016, and has twice caught 12 receiving touchdowns in a season.

Evans, who is signed through 2023, recorded 71 receptions for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns during the 2017 season. Entering his fifth year in the league, Evans has had 309 catches for 4,579 yards and 32 touchdowns during his career.

The Dallas native, 24, was drafted seventh overall by Tampa Bay in 2014.
