Rays face-off against Blue Jays on Tuesday after clinching AL's top playoff seed

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla — The Rays have clinched the American League's No. 1 seed in next week's postseason.

To get here the Rays first became the American League East Champions for the first time in a decade. The win secured one of the top seeds for the team.

But an Oakland Athletics loss today against the Seattle Mariners bumped them up to the top spot.

The top four seeded teams get a home-field advantage for one round.

The Rays' first-round competitor will be the Toronto Blue Jays.Game 1 is set for Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 5 p.m. ET.
