CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The next batch of Starlink satellites will make their way into space next week after being pushed back several times.
This will be SpaceX's 18th mission of sending up additions to the constellation of networked satellites and now the company's third launch of 2021.
"The goal of Starlink is to create a network that will help provide internet services to those who are not yet connected, and to provide reliable and affordable internet across the globe," the Kennedy Space Center wrote.
Starlink satellites will launch atop a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Launch Complex 39-A in Cape Canaveral.
The new launch window has not been determined, but SpaceX says it will likely occur by the end of next week. The launch has been pushed several times as the company deals with back-to-back days of non-conducive weather conditions.
Due to the delays, SpaceX sent up its 19th mission the day before its 18th mission is set to leave Earth.
The decision was made to "allow time for pre-launch checks and recovery vessels to get on station after offloading fairing halves from previous mission," the company wrote on Twitter.
