RIVERVIEW, Fla. — A portion of Bloomindale Avenue will be closed for a few weeks as crews work on improvement projects along U.S. 301.
Starting Friday, Jan. 21, the Florida Department of Transportation says crews will begin replacing the asphalt pavement at the intersection of U.S. 301 and Progress Boulevard in Riverview for a durable concrete surface.
According to FDOT, the project will be done in phases and will take more than two months to complete. The first phase will completely close Bloomingdale Avenue between US 301 and Robert Tolle Road.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured through Providence Road, Gornto Lake Road, Lumsden Road, Boyette Road and Bell Shoals Road.
In addition to repaving, the $21.3 million project will also add a sidewalk along the east side of U.S. 301 and widen the northbound Interstate 75 on-ramp. FDOT says the entire project is expected to be completed by early 2023.
